4MRMarket Report: Falling for Fall Produce!

The Four Mile Run Farmers & Artisans Market (4MRMarket) will be open every Sunday from 9am until 1pm from April 19th through November in Four Mile Run Park at 4109 Mt Vernon Avenue, Alexandria. (click here for directions)
Apples abound at C&T Produce now that fall is upon us!

Now that we got that hot, humid, part of the year out of the way here in Alexandria, it's time to enjoy the season where your local farmers market really shines! Fall brings autumn leaves, cool and lovely sweater weather, and a bounty of delicious produce.

Apples? Check (and in many varieties).
Pumpkins? Check.  Butternut and acorn squash? Check.
Rutabaga and other sweet, nutty root vegetables?  Check.
Kale and other hearty greens? You guessed it: check! Plus so many more tasty items.

Bring out your reusable bags and your compost and enjoy a newcomer to the 4MR Stage: Lindsay Collette. See more about her music stylings below.

You will also find the tasty baked goods from Furloughed Feds at the market and the Local Motion Kiosk that will give you lots of info on becoming more car free and/or improving your commute!

This Week on 4MR Stage...

We welcome Lindsay Collette to to 4MR Stage for the first time on Sunday from 10am-noon!

In 2013, Lindsay Collette hit the Virginia music scene as a solo acoustic act. She originally began performing at open mics as a means to meet new people. It was at one of these open mics that she was approached by a local music promoter and encouraged to pursue music. Lindsay has been described as a kind of Indie influenced Janis Joplin, in large part to the vulnerable and soulful quality of her music. Her songs ask listeners to challenge their current lifestyles and the things they choose to value. She also performs with her rock band Punch The Unicorn.

Find out more about Lindsay and preview some songs at her Reverb Nation page.

As always, the concert is free.  All our performers volunteer to share their music with market goers, though they will gladly welcome tips and friendly applause for their craft!
