4MRMarket Report: Sweet Summer Selection

The Four Mile Run Farmers & Artisans Market (4MRMarket) will be open every Sunday from 9am until 1pm year-round in Four Mile Run Park at 4109 Mt Vernon Avenue, Alexandria.  (click here for directions)

The late start to the warm weather this year delayed some of the produce a bit, but the peaches are ripe and juicy, the sweet corn is just that, and the melons are spot on.

The joy of your neighborhood farmers market is you're more connected to your food.  Sure, it's nice to have the option of sweet corn in February sometimes, but eating food in its local season produces the best version of that produce and is less impactful to the environment.  This is one of the best times of year to live the mantra of Buy Fresh, Buy Local!

Savory 'N Sweet is back this Sunday after a short hiatus and Whitney's World, Kenya Microcrafts will be on hand for their monthly visit!  Bagels and some of your favorite crafters are off on Sunday, but fear not, you have plenty of tasty options to choose from this weekend!

The Vendors!

Here is who you will find at 4MRMarket!

Janna Audey performs a mix of her own material and adaptations of songs by her favorite artists and songwriters. Whether you see Janna by her lonesome for an intimate, storytelling show, as the duo alongside husband and electric guitarist, Rob Santos you'll understand what the Janna-buzz is all about. It's about the music, providing a sense of community, connection, feeling, laughter, positive energy, and FUN.

Remember, the concert is free, but all our performers welcome tips and friendly applause for sharing their craft with you on a lovely Sunday morning.
